The Journey Of Life
What is dying?
A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon, and someone at my side says,
"She is gone!" Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all;
she is just as large as when I saw her...
The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her;
and just at the moment when someone at my side says,
"She is gone", there are others who are watching her coming, and other voices take up a glad shout,
"There she comes" - and that is dying.

The 14ft East window was commissioned (Valerie Green dated 1997 on bottom corner) by The Stained Glass Centre Killerby Lane, Cayton, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, YO11 3TP (WEBSITE).
"Ship of Souls" was designed & Manufactured by Valerie Green (1997) at the Stained Glass Centre. Valerie and her team produce new stained glass and leaded lights for churches, hotels, and homes throughout the country.

"A hidden gem at Killerby": Situated at the Stained Glass Centre you will find their rather special Tea Room. Cream teas and home-made cakes are just some of the delicious treats on offer which delight everyone who sits and take in the beautiful surroundings.
The gardens are beautifully kept, and you can either sit outside or in a conservatory overlooking the garden.
The glass items on display are all a work of art. The centre is a place where Alison and Mike would regularly visit several times a week for coffee and cake (with lashings of whipped cream! 😊🍮🎂)
The Chapel
The chapel is multi-faith and caters for all cultural and religious needs.
In our case as it's a non-religious service the celebrant (Judith Goodison) will be stood by the lecture on the right. The sound system in the chapel uses 6 speakers on the sides and bass sub-woofer at the front
The chapel seats 144 in the main area and 50 seats are located on the balcony for your use.
There is a holding area where attendees gather and they have a Hospitality Suite where wakes can take place after the service.
Disabled toilets can be found in both the chapel foyer and the Hospitality Suite, should they be needed.
We look forward to seeing you all at the funeral service at 2.30pm on Friday 26th August.
(From Filey) On B1249 at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto High St/
